Made in 1923 this is one of the earliest Rolex watchesl. The watch was owned by the celebrated Scottish architect, Alexander Cattanach and handed down through his family until acquired in an Endinburgh sale room last year and lovingly restored by us. It comes with family paperwork showing its history. The case is made of solid silver and is hinged. The back of the watch bears the initials of its original owner "AC" in beautiful Art Nouveau script. A real collector's piece, this early Rolex is powered by the very reliable, so-called Rolex "Rebberg" 15 jewel movement and is signed 'Rolex". Case, dial and movement are all signed Rolex. Case is also signed "7 World's Records" - a very early and collectible Rolex featured in James Dowling's all-time top 40 collectible Rolex watches.
