Description
This a rare Series 1 Lemania HS9 originally issued to a member of the Fleet Air Arm.
It is an exquisite example.
What is very unusual about this watch is that it was not reissued under a NATO serial number. Nearly all you see have had their original HS^9 Fleet Air Arm Numbers struck through and crossed out and replaced with later NATO Issue Numbers. In addition, most had these original dials re-painted and relumed with Tritium and the Broadarrow added on the dials. This rare and exquisite example retains its original dial because we bought it from the sone of the original al owner to whom it was issued who retained it throughout his military career in the the 1940’s, 1959’s and early 1960’s. The watch was then put away in a family drawer, hence it’s superb condition.
