Description
This is a very rare 1942 Omega military watch issued to an RAF fighter pilot in the early days of WW2.
What makes this watch so rare is that it is made entirely out of stainless steel including its mid-case unlike it’s more common 1943 issued cousins, who’s mid-case was made out of a weaker Duralim alloy.
So, you have all the elegance of the 6B/159 long lugs but with the durability and fitness of steel throughout the watch. This gives it a particularly appealing look and collectibility.
They were also the first watches to be made for the RAF from Switzerland after the Nazi invasion of the rest Europe post-1940.
Beautiful and collectible watch in outstanding condition.
