For sale here is a super example of a genuine WWII Omega Navy Pilot’s watch. This is a rare, very collectible and very hard to find watch in this 100% original condition (save only that the fixed strap bars have been replaced with removable sprung ones, as was often the case after the war, so that the watch could be worn with either a military or an ordinary leather strap). The watch has its original Aluminium alloy body (for lightness) with a stainless steel back with all the correct British Air Ministry issue markings on it. The watch also even has the original Pilot’s initials scratched into the back along with the words “July 1943”, which corresponds exactly with the date of manufacture of the watch in 1943 according to the Omega’s own records for the serial number 9973377 on the movement. The movement is the legendary Omega 30T2 with centre seconds – one of the most reliable workhorses Omega ever made and was capable of chronometer rated time keeping. This one has been fully serviced and is keeping time to within 5 seconds a day! Remarkable for a 66 year old watch. The dial is original Omega as are the blued steel hands. This is a must buy for Military watch collectors and is featured in many Military watch reference books. Comes on a new correct colour NATO blue/grey military strap.
