This example is 100% original, with all parts correct to the watch. The case measures a large 37.5mm without the crown.
It is one of the largest of the Dirty dozen. This, coupled with the characteristically stepped “Tre Tacche” case, makes it a fantastic watch on the wrist that wears well today.
This Longines retains its original dial, with original MoD luminous material aging to a very nice patina, matching that of the original cathedral hands perfectly.
Furthermore, the screw down case back of this watch is engraved with the correct military issue numbers, broad arrow and the W.W.W.
The famous Longines12.68Z movement, is a high-quality gilded movement that was chronometer graded. Having recently been serviced, it is functioning perfectly.
Lovely Longines WWW, one of the Dirty Dozen Watches from WW2. Mis-named “The Greenlander” as it was erroneously thought to have been worn on the British North Greenland Expedition between 1952-54. Now debunked by one of the actual people on that Expedition. This is a superb example of a watch that was definitely worn at the end of WW2.
