We acquired this watch from the original owner who bought it new in Cape Town while on shore leave from the Royal Navy in 1945. He said it was the best watch he could see there and even though It cost him a month’s wages at that time he had to have it. This watch has a special chronometer rated movement with micro-regulator only used by Omega in a relatively few watches. It has its original Omega sword-shaped hour and minute hands and blued steel centre sweep seconds hand sweeping over the Roman numerals hour markers and 1/5th seconds outer track. The case is in beautiful original condition. This watch comes with an official extract from the Omega Archives in Switzerland showing its provenance and the date it was first sold in South Africa.
