1998 Omega Dynamic Mark III Ref.5250.50 with Original Papers

SOLD

We bought this watch from the original first owner, who bought it new in 1998 from Goldsmiths in The Metro Centre Tyne & Wear on 21/08/98 and the original Shop Receipt and Omega Warranty Card with this date on are included in the sale! Goldsmiths also gave him the hang tag for the right model (52505007) and calibre (1108) (but with a slightly out serial number).

The watch was fully serviced through Ernest Jones 11 years later and the Receipt for this is also included.

The watch is running g perfectly and in top condition. Best one of these we could find for sale anywhere. The dial and case are perfect. Very well preserved.

if you are after one of these, this is the best example you will find.

However, the Shop Receipt and Omega Warranty Card match this watch.

Description

The following is taken from fithwrist.com who’s perfect description of this watch is far better than we could do…

“The Omega Dynamic III 5250.50 is the third and last generation of the Dynamics family. However it is anything but a facelift of the previous elliptical and angled case shaped watches with removable case rings.

The design is inspired by Omega’s contribution to the “Dirty Dozen” – WWII watches commissioned by the British MoD. A date window was added, the black dial, Arabic numerals, and big crown remained.

Speaking of the dial, there are two particular details that speak to me. More than often a fitting date window font is desperately missing and lessening the overall aesthetic, this Dynamic is spot on. Its perfectly blending in with the Arabic numerals, and I am saying this as a strong no-date supporter. The other detail I am fond of is the second hand. The yellow color makes a great contrast in combination with the minute marker frames and depicts an arrow on the end, paying homage to the MoD marked WWII watches.

Inside the Omega Dynamic III 5250.50 we have the caliber 1108, essentially an ETA 2892. Nothing special or unique but a simple, thin and very accurate movement.
Case-wise we are looking at a 36mm flieger shaped case with a flat sapphire, inner AR coating and an utilitarian screw-down caseback.

What’s not to like? I am into traditionally sized watches, not everyone is. The overall flieger/military aesthetic – you are either attracted or find them dull with time. Take a look at the crown – yes, its big! Makes great for handwinding the auto movement but might not be your cup of tea. I wish mine came on the bracelet, the 19mm strap size might put you off if you are a serious strap junkie.

Omega’s marketing approach to market it under the “Dynamic” name and possibly other to me unknown reasons resulted in a quick discontinuation of this often overlooked and relatively unknown series.
Full Sets are hard to find.”
