Rare 1956 Mid-Sized Oysterdate Precision Ref. 6466 with Black and Gilt “Waffle” Dial and Rare Alternating Red/Black “Roulette” Date Wheel

Rare vintage, gorgeous and collectible 1956 Rolex Oysterdate Precision Ref. 6466, with a mid-size steel case (30mm excl. crown) and original black waffle or honeycomb finished dial with gilt lettering gold batons and sought-after ‘roulette’ alternating black/red date function. Roelx sweep centre seconds hand. 17 jewel single hand-wound Rolex movement. The inside case-back is signed Rolex II 56 confirming that it was made in the second quarter of 1956 as does the serial number, 162595, on the case. The model number is 6466 and is found both on the case and in the case-back. The watch comes on a lovely vintage real lizard skin strap but can come on a brand new modern leather strap if preferred. Just fully serviced at a cost of nearly £100 and running perfectly, this is a really lovely watch to wear.
