Description
A rare and classic Omega Military wristwatch made only in the year 1956. In that year, the British MOD decided to re-case its old war-time Omega watches with the highly regarded and reliable Omega calibre 30T2 movements in their RAF 6B/159 spitfire pilots watches. The movements are chronometer rated.
In 1956 these watches were officially re-dialled by the famous re-diallers, Bill & Sons and re-cased in a new, larger screw-back case by the equally famous and highly regarded case-makers, Dennison. Most of these WW2 watches were re-dialled in black but a few, like this one, were done in white.
These white dial versions are much rarer and prized by military collectors.
This is without doubt, the nicest one we have ever seen and in superb, all correct condition. The dial on this watch is flawless. The case is superb with no scratches or gauges.
A really superb original example that would grace any collection.
