Description
This is a lovely and well-preserved original beautiful early Automatic dress watch by Omega in Solid 18k Gold Omega Case.
The Movement
The watch was made in the heyday of Omega’s fine watchmaking. The cal. 28.10 RA Omega signed Automatic movement is preserved in absolutely pristine condition with all its copper-plating shining and intact. The movement is running beautifully and keeping superb time for a vintage watch if this age within +\- 5 seconds per day.
The Case
The solid 18k gold case measures just under 33mm and is fully signed and hallmarked and has beautifully sculptured lugs and its original nipple crown.
There are no dings or marks on the sensitively polished case. The original and correct unusual winding crown is in place.
The Dial
The original finish two-tone copper Dial is very unusual and beautiful with two-tone copper middle and gold outer rim containing alternating applied solid gold numbers and batons at the hour markers.
The original hour and minute hands are solid gold and the seconds hand is in blued-steel. All very elegant.
The Strap
Used but high-quality real Crocodile Skin stop and hold-played buckle.
Overall
A beautiful watch. Very unusual and elegant. Completely original and well-preserved from the 1940’s. We acquired this watch from the son of the original owner and it has been very well looked after and cared for. It has been in a drawer for many years but was thoroughly inspected by high-end Jewelers, Mallory’s of Bath.
