Speedmaster 105.003-63

Omega confirmed that both watches on the wrist of astronaut Ed White during the Gemini IV mission are Speedmaster 105.003-63 references. One of them was Ed White’s training watch, and, according to NASA’s former engineer James H. Ragan, “It was one of the first Speedmasters to be delivered after the tests performed by NASA”. The training watch was later sold by Ed White’s son to a collector in Japan. The late Chuck Maddox wrote about this on his website.

Description

This watch is in outstanding original condition. A true Collector’s example.

Rare and beautiful Omega Speedmaster reference  105.003-63. Very early reference. Rarely seen -63 version in mint original condition on its original 7912 Omega bracelet with No. 6 endlinks.

This is as a near perfect Ed White as you will ever find.

This is the Ed White Speedmaster, the exact model he wore on the first ever Space Walk.

The watch was acquired from the son of the original owner who bought it new from the NAFFI Stores whilst serving with the British Army in West Germany in 1964.

The watch was rarely worn and serviced by G.Chambers & Sons of Colchester and then put away in a drawer in 1970 and never worn since. Hence, this watch is a true “time capsules “ example in immaculate original condition, the best we have ever seen and a true collector’s piece. Comes with Omega’s Official Extract of the Archives confirming delivery to the NAAFI Stores on 10th December, 1964.
